La Mezzaluna

Now it takes a bit to impress me with food, As I think if it’s a service with a chef, then absolutely it should be better than what I can cook at home right!? However wow, excellent food! My husband’s steak especially huge and delicious! We popped in last minute before seeing Jimmy Carr this evening and i am already planning a trip back! I had delicious fresh egg paste cooked beautifully, lots of seafood was hidden in there. And a side of garlic bread with cheese which has rosemary on top. The main event- hubs steak, it came with a large portion of chips and veg (home made chips- as they always should be) The sauces were something I need to find a recipe for! Thank you ☺️

My colleague and I had dinner here and it was really good, service was great, prompt and with smiles. I had the Gamberetti Allagio as the starter and this was really tasty. Had the Tortelloni Bolognese as the main dish - what wowed me was the generous amount of bolognese sauce and meal portion size, most places are always stingy with it, the taste was really great, although the tortelloni was a little too soft for me. Ended the night with the Vanilla and Pistachio gelato, at this point i couldn’t walk again 😁. My colleague had vegetable soup (that had chunky veggies in it) vegetarian pizza (that had about 10 vegetables on it), and she really loved this. Overall, we really had a good experience.

Excellent meal and outstanding service at Mezzaluna. I ordered the seabass with potatoes and salad, and the food was absolutely excellent. The wait was no more than 20 minutes, which was very reasonable. The waiters checked on us throughout the meal, were extremely polite, and couldn't do enough to make sure everything was perfect. Great food, fantastic service, and a lovely experience. I would definitely recommend Mezzaluna and will be returning.

An okay Italian meal. Wouldn’t rush back, but it was inoffensive and a convenient location. Pizza bases seemed a little too uniform, so I’m not convinced how home made they were- I’ve been to Italy 40 times, so feel able to comment on that.

Great little restaurant open later than others in Carlisle. Delicious pizzas, friendly service and reasonably priced. Leave room for the deserts!

Friendly and attentive staff, food was good and tasty but didn't blow my socks off. My wife's steak however was apparently gorgeous. Would happily go again, next time I'll maybe try the steak 😄🥩. The atmosphere was loud when full, but it's a small contained space, if you're harder of hearing you may not enjoy it as much as peak times. Should also good for those with slight mobility issues, there is one small step towards the back of the restaurant towards the toilets.
