The Acorn

If I could give it a one I would. Food came finally with no drinks. Chased twice with the bar and still nothing. After 1 hour 10 minutes I went to the bar and waited there until we got them. Food was disgusting, lukewarm and the onion rings were dripping with oil and soggy. Staff are rude and incompetent.

Tried here for the first time and they must say the food was excellent fast service reasonable priced would definitely go again see pictures below

Really disappointing and nowhere near as good as the usual Marstons that I visit near Chorley. The staff were focussed with the outdoors area and pretty much ignored me as I waited at the bar. The one person who stood out was a male in his late teens. He was very warm and friendly and really seemed to focus on the customers. The other staff less so. The food was very disappointing. The Prawn Cocktail starter was so tiny you could almost count the prawns at a glance. The Hunters Chicken was very low quality, with the BBQ sauce tasting like the cheapest supermarket brand. The Chicken Masala was reasonable. The restaurant was a little time-worn and this was surprising due to its relative newness. Apart from the person I have already mentioned, the remaining staff seemed disinterested

I went here for lunch with a friend as neither of us had been before. The soup was full of flavour and the bread roll was warm and soft; the scampi and chips were delicious, cooked perfectly; the apple crumble was delightful, the toffee sauce was a lovely addition. The staff were very helpful, friendly and polite. i will definitely visit again after Christmas

Lovely experience at The Acorn . Pleasant atmosphere. Everything nice & clean . Delicious food. Gammon egg pineapple & skin on fries , peas really nicely presented & Delicious pepperoni pizza also very nice. Base loveky & light. Garlic bread amazing too Friendly & helpful staff nothing too much trouble. Highly recommend The Acorn 101%
