Fantastic pub in a beautiful village. Food was exquisite (the best venison steak I’ve had in a very long time) and the service was amazing too (Pip went above and beyond!). I only wish I lived closer so I could visit more often!

FREE BREAD! A well curated menu with exciting options - much, much more than pub grub. Tender venison, spring greens, peppercorn sauce and a crisp European larger. What more can you ask for while soaking in the last of the summer evening sun. The pub strikes the perfect balance between modern and a traditional pub-yyy feel all with a tasteful decor - somewhere you can spend all day, AND, all night, eating and drinking. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and as equally passionate about the food as the kitchen staff. Pip looked after us brilliantly, was attentive throughout, and even comped our desserts after recognising we’d come back two days in a row. A lovely touch that rounded off two excellent meals.

Excellent! Food here is top notch, but they have also nailed customer service and the intangible 'atmosphere' that is hard to pull off. Yes it may be a price point above your average pub (just) but it is worth it. Food is outstanding. Service impeccable (all young, local staff, which is nice to see). Pizzas are delicious and good value (it all is, to be honest!). Can't recommend highly enough and it's good to see after the pub has been languishing for a while.

Recently refreshed, this is a nice village pub doing very good food. Our room was a reasonable size with a good ensuite, down a step, and information about the area. We went for a walk suggested by the pub which was ok. Service was good.

We visited the restaurant yesterday for a family meal. We are big foodies and I have to say the food is exceptional couldn’t fault any of it. All of the staff were very polite and helpful with a welcoming smile. We will definitely visit again and will be recommending others. 10/10

We were part of a group of nine on Saturday and had a fantastic experience. The menu had such a great selection that we couldn’t resist ordering pizzas for starters, and they were by far the best pizzas we’ve had in the area. There were six adults in our group, and we all ordered steak cooked medium. Every single one was beautifully cooked to perfection, and the sauce was delicious. It’s so refreshing to have a pub open that serves such high-quality food at very reasonable prices. Having moved from London, where we were spoiled for choice with great restaurants and pubs, we’ve struggled to find places locally that consistently serve good food. This new pub is exactly what we’ve been looking for. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. Despite having a group of nine, they handled all our food and drink orders with ease and professionalism. We had a lovely meal and will definitely be back again. Thank you! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
