Dreel Tavern

The service here was amazing, the two waiters were very friendly and knew about the menu. The atmosphere was cute and cosy and the menu had very good options. My starter was delicious however the issue came with my main. I chose a butter chicken curry, the portion was tiny! After one bite it looked like I was almost done. I understand that there are small/high end plates here but I don't think that works with a curry. Even though I have a small appetite I was still hungry after spending £25 on a curry. Plus, some of the rice was crunchy - I think it had been left under the lamp in the pass for a while. And I was given half a nan bread. It was unfortunate because despite this we had a really wonderful time. It was a special evening made by the service staff.

This is possibly the best pub in Scotland. The staff cannot do enough to make you feel welcome. The beer is in perfect condition. They are very child friendly. The food is delicious. The setting is beautiful. Do not come to Anstruther without visiting the Dreel Tavern!

Stumbled upon this place by chance, whilst staying in Saint Monans. Done the coastal walk and then jumped on a local bus, this is on the main Leven to St Andrews 95 route. They squeezed us in and so thankful they did. Service, food and the Dreel lager on tap was a brilliant pint and so was the Crail gin. Staff were very attentive without being over-bearing and despite them being very, very busy, they took the time to engage and the conversation was genuine...fantastic customer service. We promptly booked for the next day Sunday roast, book in early as the ribeye and chateaubriand was done, however the 7oz fillet was delicious. Cannot recommend this place enough.amd can't wait to get back next year.

INCREDIBLE. Perfect blend of cosy pub and incredible seafood. I wish I lived closer to this gem. The tagliatelle with haddock and smoked mussels was the best fish dish I’ve ever had. Really fresh ingredients, beautiful flavour and well presented. If I lived just 2 hours away from this place I would drive back just for this dish. We had the salmon and caviar to start which was also amazing. 10/10
