The Roost

We booked 5 rooms for a family wedding & couldn’t fault ‘The Roost on Rock Road’! Lovely, well equipped rooms with comfortable beds in a pretty location. We enjoyed a fabulous dinner on 1 of the 2 nights we stayed… delicious food & fantastic service! The choice of food was superb even for myself who is a coeliac! Thank you so much to Joanne & Andy for looking after us all so well! We cannot recommend more highly!

An absolute little gem here. Some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met servicing delicious, honest, simple and hearty food in a great location. Last min booking as we had a very bad experience at another pub round the corner (Avoid the Three Horse Shoes at all costs people). Phoned ahead, the lads accommodated us in the private dinning room as we 6 of us in the party and a dog. The lads here were spot on in every way, knowing the menu, the produce, what they recommend etc. The curry scotch eggs were amazing, 6 empty plates and a little bit of steak for the dog also. Great customer service from people who genuinely care about their job and reputation and value local custom. We will be visiting again!

Came here tonight for my birthday after a recommendation from a friend and am so glad we did For starters the scotch egg was absolutely delicious. And my wife had the loaded fries which was plentiful and excellent. For mains we had the faggots and the chicken burger. The chicken burger was huge, juicy and the coating crispy. The faggots were cooked to perfection and the mash was buttery and rich. For desert we both had the sticky toffee pudding and was a great end to the meal. Service from a young lad on his second shift was polite and attentive throughout. And the owner was on hand and very welcoming. Can't recommend this place highly enough and will look forward to going back again

We had the pleasure of staying at The Roost, last night. The rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed. Booked the restaurant for dinner (out of convenience, if I'm honest) but we had an absolutely fantastic experience!!! Top quality food, great atmosphere and incredible service from the team. Also, as an ale fan, have to say that the HPA was spot on.👌

Honestly one of the best places I’ve eaten at in a long time. The food at The Roost in Barry was absolutely incredible, everything was full of flavour and cooked perfectly. The staff were lovely and the whole atmosphere just felt welcoming and relaxed. I am definitely coming back! Note: Try the Lamb!
