First time trying this restaurant and I have to tell you, DEFFO TOP 5 of all time eats!!!! Not a bean of salt or pepper needed as the expertise that went into make these dishes will definitely transport you to a beautiful summers evening on an quiet Greek island. Absolutely sublime. This was only matched by the knowledge, attentiveness and all round service of the staff while Sat in a cosy authentic Greek home. One of the best evenings I've had in 10yrs surrounded by good friends, great atmosphere and amazing food!!! Thank you to you all xoxo

If you are genuinely looking for authentic ambience and Cyprian food Soktates Greek Taverna is the place to be. The staff are 5 star additional the meals prepared are not just a nice dish is charismatically art. Cordingly invited my best friend and I enjoyed every minute of it. Fabulous at its best. Had a lovely Greek meal at Sokrates in Horwich — honestly felt as good as being in Greece. The food was incredible from start to finish, full of flavour and clearly made with care. The pistachio cream cheesecake at the end was absolutely amazing and worth a visit on its own. Brilliant, friendly service too. Can’t fault it at all — we’ll definitely be back.

Been for a family meal tonight with our 11 year old son. Staff extremely welcoming and friendly. Waiter could not have been any more helpful. He took the time to explain each dish, even recommending pairings of dips, which was greatly appreciated. Food was absolutely fabulous. Such flavour to each and every dish. We will definitely be returning. Amazing food, staff and atmosphere, what more could you need!

We had a brilliant night. The food was really fresh and genuinely excellent, full of flavour and clearly made with care. Service was just as good. The staff were super friendly, really welcoming and took time to talk us through the menu and help us choose, which made the whole experience even better. Portions were big and great value for money too. We left very full and happy. We’ll definitely be back.

Four of enjoyed excellent meals here the portions were generous , everything was delicious and the service super friendly. Selection of dips stifado, gigantes, souvlaki, keftethes Hand of course baklava! Highly recommended..

Absolutely fantastic greek taverna offering something truly unique and authentic in this world of identikit chains and on trend pop ups. A charming and attentive host who is helpful and efficient without being overbearing. We were advised there is no children's menu, since they believe children should eat and experience the same of the rest of us. I fully support that ethos. Food is fresh, served hot, and the flavours are nuanced yet bold. We attended some months ago for my wife's birthday, forgot to review at the time but this is an absolute gem of an eatery tucked away in Horwich, a small town on the outskirts of Bolton, Greater Manchester. If you are in the area it's seriously worth checking out and well priced.
