Pentrebane Fish Bar

Have had good experiences with the food here up until now However I showed up exactly at 4pm today only for them to be shut, now I understand being late to open so this was not a problem, at 4.15pm I checked google and their own website to double check I did intact have the right opening hours and yes they do open at 4pm om Tuesdays. I stayed for a further 20 minutes until 4.35pm when I left. Please amend your opening hours on the website or Google. If you do not open until 5pm or not at all on Tuesdays or any other day that is okay but I and im sure other customers would like to be made aware. If you are simply closed due to the heat a sign, post, or some other notification would have been helpful. I also understand that there may have been circumstances out of your control such as illness or accident in which case I totally understand why you were still closed.

What a awful establishment. Me and my partner have had this chippy a couple times over the last 2 years but no more. We ordered 2 chicken wraps with garlic sauce and lettuce with a side of garlic mayo sauce for our chips. They were over an hour delivering our food and upon arrival my partner had the most pathetic wrap I have ever seen. Next to no meat. Filled with all salad and a smear of garlic sauce. They didn't even bother to give me chicken and instead ended up with a full salad donner wrap! Upon trying to call them it just goes to answer phone! Load of rubbish and thats where the food went. I get if you cant complete the order and your near closing but we ordered an hour an half before closing and we live 15 minutes away!!! Dont bother ordering cause they will just give you what ever they feel like or what ever scraps are left hanging around

WOW, SIMPLY AMAZING !!! It was my 1st time visiting this place. After visiting so many local kebab houses in this part of Cardiff, i have been let down by tiny portions for expensive prices. Then I came across this place, it's one of Cardiffs hidden gems, big portions, with good quality marinaded doner meat and chicken kebab. They also do some of the nicest chippy chips I've tried in years. This place is so good. I'm going to give it a 9.5 out of 10, it smashes all of the local rivals like Yummies and King Kebab out of the park. The staff were also super friendly, and i will be recommending this place to all my friends and family across the west of Cardiff. If you want amazing value for money with great friendly staff and food that tastes out of this world good, then look no further

I rarely have a take away but to celebrate a nice week and starting a new job, I had a hunger for a kebab! I’ve passed this place nearly twice a day as it’s at the bottom of my road. They had a varied selection, I chose a mixed Doner and Chicken kebab. Both the doner and chicken were well seasoned, the chicken was marinated which was lush. Great portion size for the price. I wss most surprised by the quality of the chip shop cut chips again, great quality and taste so more than happy. I usually leave a bit for a snack the next day but I ended up eating all of it as it was just too good to save! Highly recommended.

Awful. Poor service. Nasty food. I paid £4 for this cod. It was hidden & squished underneath the chips. I called to complain and the owner said all his fish are like this. I also asked for the food to be delivered at a social distance. The guy who delivered the food was waiting on my doorstep despite giving him time to move away.

Had food delivered, when it arrived fish batter was soggy and most of it was stuck to the paper, not up to their usual standards. Won't be ordering again.

Food is cooked fresh every single time. Food is always piping hot and very tasty. The owner and his son’s are lovely and chatty, always try their best to please. I have never had a better kebab from anywhere else… truth! The portion sizes are really generous also.
