Throstles Nest, Congleton

Brilliant pub with great selection of top beers and a pool table

Wow what a find. Completely lovely pub. Fantastic beer served by a friendly, knowledgeable landlord, amongst chatty locals. Spacious, well decorated with an amazing outdoor rooftop area. Have paid a lot more for a lot less, the real ale was wonderfully conditioned, I could’ve stayed all day. On our canal boat journey we have been in some great pubs but this place has jumped to the number 1 spot. Can’t wait til the next visit👏

Hard to tell the interior of this pub is only 2 years old, not only a classic pub has been created, the cask ales pouring are fantastic quality earning it a deserved entry in the Good Beer Guide. Definitely worth a visit - if walking from the 🚂 try going via the Macc Canal & Biddulph Valley Way

What a great place this is. They spent a lot of money and time on the refurb and did it the right way.. still looks like a pub .. The selection of beers, both on keg and on cask is excellent. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Apparently there is a really nice roof terrace but it was winter when we went so we didn't venture out. I don't know if food is available but if it is - like the rest of the place - it will be excellent. BTW ..best Guinness I've tasted in years. Can't recommend this place enough. It's a bit out of the way but well worth the effort.
