We went yesterday for food - really impressed. I had the chicken burger which was excellent and plenty of really nice chips, my husband had gammon which was also really good! Deserts were delicious! The new owners were really welcoming and attentive and we will definitely be back to try something else off the menu !
Was literally passing, and in need of lunch. Ended up with a couple of lovely meals (for me and my Partner - I didn't eat both!) on a nice, sunny day in the beer garden. The inside of the pub seemed nice as well and, although we weren't drinking (due to driving commitments), there was a good choice of drinks and food. Not sure if we'll be passing again but, if we were, we'd definitely stop there again!
A regular at The Hawk, when we heard the new Chef had arrived we came for lunch. The food was delicious, standard and specials menu, the service top notch and a great friendly atmosphere. Even a surprise birthday dessert for my friend’s birthday which was a lovely touch. Would highly recommend a visit.
No booking so popped in. Wow, looking so much better since the refurb! Menu not vast but does the job. Bit pricier but things change. Partner had steak and ale pie and I had fish and chips. All good. The pug was with us too. Friendly welcoming staff so much so have booked for Sunday lunch.
Enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch in a cosy comfy atmosphere. Staff were friendly and very attentive will definitely be back.
Very impromptu evening with a friend - ordered a bottle of wine. Greeted well and given wine cooler. Later landlady asked if we’d like another bottle and promptly gave table service. Given two glasses of water without asking. When we asked if they did food as they didn’t we were offered crisps and again table service given. Refreshing change to get service with a smile. Above and beyond.
First meal here since it reopened. Really good food, very friendly staff which adds to the overall experience. I had steak. It was cooked to perfection. Highly recommended. Will definitely be back! The steak was the most expensive thing on the menu, but well worth it. Only a small menu but all sounded great.
