The Duke Of Wellington

Popped in for a spot of lunch when travelling through Durham. Lovely, relaxed atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff, clean, dog friendly and a lovely outside area. Didn't wait very long for food, which was well presented and very tasty. Good value for money. Would return again.

Been here a few times now with friends and family. Most recently, went for Festive Menu for a group of 6. We all loved the food and drinks. Dessert was heavenly too. Our hostess was superb. Very tentative. Everything came promptly.

We go to the Duke fairly regularly as it's a great pub that's also dog friendly. The staff are always lovely and welcoming and it's got a nice cosy feel. The food is outstanding. We love the brunch on a weekend, evening meals are gorgeous and this weekend we had our first Sunday lunch. We'll definitely go for another one. We're hopefully moving house soon where we'll be on a bus route to the pub so I think we'll be visiting more often

The first time in this pub today with hubby. Very nicely decorated and cosy was first impression. Spot on for customer service. Food was delicious 😋 I had the falafel and salad wrap with potato skin chips and hubby had the Turkey roll with chips and came with gravy. Beautifully presented. £15.28 for both meals, Lunch. £3.50 for pints of Pepsi max. Reasonable. Has vegetarian and vegan options. All I will say is that I don't personally add salt to food, only if I need to, so that should of been my choice to put on the chips. Has s car park and beer garden. Toilets are upstairs and spotless. On the site it says has disabled/ wheelchair toilet. I/we will definitely be returning again.

Just had lunch at the Duke of Wellington - we’ve eaten here several times in the last year, and we’ve been impressed on each occasion. The staff are all efficient, friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere makes it a pleasant place to eat. There’s ample parking and access is great - the pub is easy to find, on the outskirts of Durham City. Furthermore the food is super, with a varied menu, and the toilet facilities are exceptionally clean - always a good endorsement of an eating establishment! I can recommend the Duke of Wellington - we’ll be returning!
