Dhillons Express

Today I got a large cod with fries and ended up throwing it away. I had bought it before and liked it, but now it has changed completely. The cod came in two small pieces, and it seems they are trying to make it look bigger by adding a thick layer of batter. The crispy coating was three times thicker, but it was only cooked on the outside, and the batter between the coating and the fish was raw, which is harmful to the stomach. The cod didn’t seem fresh either. They haven’t changed the price, but they ruined the recipe. I wouldn’t really recommend it.

The batter on the fish was very thick and felt like the excess battery wasn't dripped off. The actual fish was very nice, but the batter was too thick and inside there was uncooked flabby disgusting batter. The chips were cold and overcooked. We started ordering around 5 to get a delivery for 19:45. It still came 20 mins late. Would not recommend. Looking at the outside of dhillions fish and chip shop was probably the best thing about it. The food was garbage.

Went in with my wife and three children and ordered 3 portions of chips to go, female server asked if we wanted it wrapped and we said 'Yes'. There were no other customers in store. 10 minutes later two groups of people came in and were served chips before us and our order was nowhere to be seen. When I approached and asked the female why they were served before us, she asked once again if we want it wrapped and I said she was told when the order was taken and she rudely replied I'm asking you if you want it wrapped or open? Then continued to say that they were here before us, clearly they weren't as we were the first people there. Then dismissed me and literally threw the chips on the table and shrugged her shoulders, YES YOU WITH THE TATOOS, you should be working at the market stall and not serving customers, customer service is absolutely zero, no apologies, not even a thank you, will never return, DO NOT GO THERE.

Absolute joke. Served by foreign speaking male server and asked for cod and chips and savoy and chips....had to repeat order twice and got it home to find two bags of chips and a curry sauce!!!! Others in shop had issues with wrong orders.....Saturday 22nd June 2017 at 14:30 so managers can track server when they read this. Took order back after driving home to find order wrong and just wanted to give me fish and thought that he shouldn't have to replace the now cold chips..... Also tried to give me back the curry sauce!!! Stick your sauce mate as I didn't order it. Will never go back there again. They used to be so good but sticking someone on the front counter on a busy Saturday afternoon that hardly understand English is crazy and while we were in the shop waiting for our order to be replaced a lady came in and asked for 5 pieces of chicken and was served two portions of chips instead? How the hell can u mistake 5 pieces of chicken for two bags of chips.....I simply couldn't believe what I was seeing...... Urgently needs staff replacement on front counter

30 minutes for dry tasteless chicken strips in a bun and soggy chips. Thought chips shops were supposed to be fast food!! Staff were too busy sniggering at customers to be any quicker. I'll don't think I'll be going back there, not even if it's the only take away left in the whole world.

Awful! Had a long wait for large cod, two large chips, two saveloys and a beef and onion pie. I got it home to find the chips were anaemic, pale and had more eyeballs than a box full of spiders. The cod had been on slim fast as it was so skinny and the beef and onion pie was cold on the bottom I suspect it may have been frozen as it took 2 minutes on high in the microwave for it to look even slightly normal. I would not recommend this to a friend! Or anyone.

Went to get 2 portions of fish & chips. Both Cod & Haddock were delicious and fresh. Enjoyed it. Only drawback got a mayo instead of tartar.
