Great selection of food and drinks to choose from and very reasonable prices. Arrived 10am during May school holidays. We were seated straight away, table for 4, no reservation, although it was busy by 11am. Waitress took order straight away. We received drinks within 5mins and food within 20mins. We had Americano, 2x banana bread chai latte, and iced cinnamon swirl latte and 4x Burns breakfast sandwich, £49. They were lovely. Great service, will come again.

Fantastic coffee shop - the staff are excellent! Very thorough! I only ordered a drink, and they still asked about allergens. It is very comforting, as I have coeliac disease, so I felt very safe here, and would definitely return! The staff are also very friendly and welcoming! The atmosphere here was amazing! Perfect for studying, but also would be a lovely place to catch up with friends. Very clean! Menu looked lovely, and their honey latte was delicious! Highly recommend!

Set in the original Jarrow Hall, built about 1785 by local businessman Simon Temple, the Hive Coffee Company have established an enviable name for delicious coffees, beverages and scrumptious cooked food and snacks. A busy place mid day offering indoor and outdoor seating in an historic location close to the Bede Monastery - the monastery where the Venerable Bede lived and worked is known as St Paul's.

Called in with my daughter for coffee and cake. Lovely coffee and lovely cake with a great selection. Sat in the garden as it was a lovely day. Looking forward to going back soon. Lovely helpful staff and quick service. I would recommend booking a table as it is very popular.

Really lovely brunch at Hive Coffee Company last weekend! I was glad we had booked as it was getting busy when we arrived and there was a solid queue when we left! Our server was friendly, great choice of vegan and vegetarian options on the menu and our food was tasty. Well cooked poached eggs on my eggs Florentine and good hollandaise. Good coffee too. The selection of sweet treats looked fab, but we were too full sadly. The grounds of Jarrow hall are lovely too and the herb garden was very cute. Would recommend!

Book a table! Met up with a friend to chat, chill and enjoy delicious food! We both had Eggs Benny which was incredible with really thick ham and beautiful presentation. My son had pancakes with fruit and syrup which were demolished and very filling! The staff were terrific, attentive and keen to ensure every need was met for us. The venue is clean and bright with big windows and assorted seating options whether you're at a table or relaxing on a couch. The Hive is dog friendly and other guests with dogs were considerate of others which gave the entire venue a cosy, respectful and comfortable vibe. Thank you to the team at The Hive!

​I’ve been to Hive Coffee Company in Jarrow plenty of times now and it is always absolutely buzzing. The food is excellent and the building itself has loads of charm. The only real letdown is that the service is always slow. ​Because it’s so busy, you do end up waiting a while. On my last visit, it took over twenty minutes just to get a takeaway coffee which is a bit much when you’re on the go.
