There is wonderful selection of artisanal bread on offer daily as well as insanely good pastries, toasties and sandwiches all made with quality ingredients. The staff here are super friendly! Be sure to take home a Stottie! These are delicious!

Great coffee and delicious banana bread. Not the place if you want comfy seating and a cosy vibe. Our fault for not checking because on this day had a sore back. It's more like a quick coffee/catchup type setting but because the staff/food is good you want to stay longer lol I would still come back! Staff were really friendly and were having a good time at work which was nice to see

Fantastic croissant with the perfect texture, both flaky and soft. Buttery but too much so. One of the best I’ve had in England. I got this other little cake treat with it, which was dense with light sweetness - I wouldn’t get again. The americano was a nice roast. I liked all their options available and would definitely come back! There was a lot of seating in the back.

Pure joy in bakery form at PureKnead Bakery. Everything about this place feels thoughtful, high quality, and genuinely special. The pastries are outstanding - perfectly laminated, golden, and buttery, with that ideal balance of crisp exterior and soft, rich interior. The pain au raisin was an absolute highlight: generously filled, beautifully baked, and not overly sweet. You can tell everything is made with real care and skill. The cakes were just as impressive — light, moist, and delicately flavoured, with gorgeous presentation. Even boxed up to take away, they looked (and tasted) exceptional. The bakery itself is lovely and welcoming.

We’ve been visiting this town for two years and used to enjoy this bakery run by friendly ladies with a sweet atmosphere and great service. Since the owner changed, while the baked goods remain excellent, the vibe has become less welcoming. I was disappointed to receive my coffee in an old smelly plastic cup, and it was piping hot - it’s not healthy and actually hazard. The coffee itself wasn’t great either. Fortunately, there are many wonderful cafés around the castle. The café near the castle stairs, Shapes, is fantastic, and a wonderful young man from London, has just started opening there. I highly recommend checking it out.

Went here after seeing a video of the coffee flights that they have to offer. My friend got the coffee flight and I knew I had to try the match flight once I knew it was something they offered. The staff were really welcoming and informative. Lovely atmosphere great selection of drinks and foods. The artisan bread was calling to me so I will definitely be back for some. Can’t wait to try something else on the menu and a slice of the banana bread. Definitely a little hidden gem in Newcastle city centre. Can’t wait to visit again soon
