Bull

The bull is your classic English pub. An indoor area with low lighting, complete bar and plenty of seating and an outdoor patio with plenty of tables as well. Large TV showing cricket. I went with the steak and ale pie, came with mashed potatoes and mushy peas. Everything was okay, tasted pre-prepared and just heated up. Not much meat in the pie. Follow that up with the figgy pudding, again tasted pre-prepared and just heated up. Everything was good, just nothing special. Service was okay, you order at the bar, they want payment for everything as you order it. No running a tab. Kind of annoying when you want everything on one receipt.

A great place to chill, relax, and enjoy some good food. The outdoor seating area is spacious and well set up, with screens showing live sports and games, which creates a nice atmosphere. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout the visit, and the food was delicious with good portion sizes. Overall, a lovely spot to spend time with friends or family. Would happily visit again.

Really lovely experience at Greene King in Newmarket. The staff were so accommodating with my mum being gluten-free — they immediately offered her a gluten-free menu and were really understanding and helpful, which made such a difference. The food was genuinely delicious, arrived really quickly, was lovely and hot, and the portions were a really good size. Great value for money too! All of the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the whole place had such a nice, calm atmosphere. We felt really comfortable and well looked after. Would definitely recommend and we’ll absolutely be coming back! 😊

Took 50 minutes for food to arrive. When it did arrive it looked like a school dinner. Tiny portion of peas with the bangers and mash and no Yorkshire pudding. Asked about the missing Yorkshire pudding which then arrived 10 minutes after I had finished eating. No apology. Seemed to think this was ok

Had our first Sunday roast here and we loved it! The service was excellent and we have popped in a few times for drinks and snacks. One of our favorite pubs in Newmarket.
