Went here today for sunday lunch had 3 courses for £20 was beautiful, had battered prawn to start turkey cooked dinner loads of meat veg mashed/roast potatos was stunning we all had seperate gravy which you dont normally have, home made apple pie and custard. We will defintely be returning food staff and pricing was amazing
Visited here for an afternoon tea for a friends birthday on 2nd April 26 ... absolutely fabulous and so pleased we did. The service was very good and the food, 2 finger sandwiches of 4 varieties, homemade cakes and scone with strawberry jam and Rhodda's clotted cream, was all of excellent quality at a very reasonable price (£14.95 per person). I will definitely return sometime in the future and would highly recommend to others considering an afternoon tea.
Awful service and attitude from morning staff. I'm not one to leave complaints really, I know how hard it can be in customer service and busy times especially. But I was waiting an hour & 24 minutes for my Small breakfast, I'm quite an anxious person myself anyway and it took some convincing to go up and ask, When I did I got told by the (obviously overworked) woman at the bar that they were busy and I'd have to wait. I didn't really have anything back to say, But this has been 40 minutes and my brother who had ordered a bigger order after me got his and finished it already. I then signaled to someone and asked them about it, no apologies from anyone, nothing. Another half hour later I went up to ask, and despite being at the bar before others, I wasn't seen to. That was probably my fault for not asserting myself. Someone else from my group went up and asked and got essentially told the same, bare in mind this was after the table next to us had been and gone with the same order, despite showing up later. I don't want to be the rude guy, And that what probably led to them ignoring me, But that was awful service. Atmosphere in potters was nice as always, It was nice food, Poor service. I have been in, in the past and I haven't ever really had any issues. It's a nice place to go for a pint on the lovely rooftop terrace, But this morning was frustrating to a new level.
Lovely pub, lovely food. Went up on to the roof terrace afterwards . They were playing the rugby and very busy.
Nice staff, amazing food. Good value for money. Live entertainment on a Friday and Saturday night. Never had a bad meal or pint in there. As its a pub that only allows older people in they don't seem to have much trouble. Definitely my preferred go to pub.
The Potters helped make my 60th birthday celebration on the rooftop last Saturday truly special. We were exceptionally well looked after, with a special thank you to Vinnie and Lou for their outstanding service. The buffet was superb, with a great selection of food, including delicious vegetarian options, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. I highly recommend The Potters as a venue for any special occasion.
Popped in for a couple before the football, seemed like a good friendly place and as the weather was nice went up to the rooftop area which was nice. Will definitely pop in again next time I'm in Newport.
