Steak & Omelette

First place I took my then girlfriend 50 years ago now she is my wife of 48 years. Thought we would try it again food was great staff very attentive and great ambience. Have now been back again with our granddaughter who also loved it .

We visited Steak and Omelette for our daughter’s 8th birthday and had such a lovely experience. We booked just half an hour before arriving, and from the moment we walked in wearing her birthday sash, we were warmly greeted and made to feel welcome. Steak and Omelette has been our go-to place for years. My husband and I have been together for 23 years, and we’ve come here often throughout that time. We’ve always been so happy with everything here, but realised we had never actually left a review before now. The food, service, and ambience are consistently amazing. Whether you’re visiting as a couple or with a big group, they always cater brilliantly and make everyone feel comfortable. What made this visit extra special was the thoughtful gesture they did for our daughter without us even asking. They brought out a dessert with a candle and sang Happy Birthday to her, which completely made her night. It was such a kind and genuine touch and made her birthday celebration even more memorable. Thank you to all the staff for always being so welcoming and for making this occasion so special for our family. We’ll definitely continue coming back for many more years to come.

Fantastic traditional restaurant run by the same family for 60 years I believe. The carbonara was one of the best I’ve had. One of the only premises in the city centre that’s been there all my life! Steaks looked amazing too, next time!

My family and I have been eating here since the 1980s. The quality of the food is excellent, as is the service. Our family favourites include steaks of course but also their renown lamb Klefticon, their Greek salads and of course their delicious chips and chef's special onion ring bits! There is an open kitchen, which is fascinating to see and the restaurant can get quite busy and noisy at times but that all adds to the atmosphere. It's not a cheap place to eat out either, but the quality of the food is first class. Highly recommended for a special occasion.

Food tastes good, particularly enjoyed how the steak was cooked and the chips were pretty good. However, the sauce (which is £5 each and not included with a steak order) is enough for maybe 1/3 of a steak. The £8 omlette is also disappointly small. In hindsight I wouldnt have ordered the omlette or the sauce as the extra £13 i spent on them added little to no value. Asked 3 times and waited 30mins for them to get us the bill, they even topped up our water as we waited for it.
