The Hop Pole Of Retford

So glad this restaurant is back open! The new menu did not disappoint! Stunning Food! Such a nice location, great vibes, and food to die for! Perfectly cooked duck and fish! 10/10 recommended, will definitely be back!!

Very good food and service. Location is very pretty and relaxing outside. Lasagne was good, but pricey at nearly £20. However dirty fries at £7.95 was good value. Cakes were a little ultra processed and not as appealing compared to the meals.

Really glad this place is back open. The food was amazing and the service we received was fantastic! Only let down was the table near us (inside) full of teenagers vaping, shouting, throwing food and filming and getting us in the videos. Hopefully this is just a one off, but couldn’t knock the food or service. Also thought the prices were reasonable and in line with close by places.

This was certainly an interesting pub experience. We arrived early and sat out on the lovely terrace before moving to our prebooked table, the views are excellent over fields and the canal. The air conditioning wasn't working on the hottest day of the year and the servers shut the door which was a baffling choice (we did ask for it to be reopened and it was). Drink wise, both ales were out (the doom bar and the local option) so neck oil would have to do. The Camembert starter was ok, the cheese was great but 2 tiny pieces of bread was not suffice. My son's children's burger was huge but the ridiculous amounts of salt on the chips (more than a McDonald's) meant he couldn't really eat them. We requested our adult burgers have no salt on the chips so he could have some. The meat used is very good quality and cooked really well, the burger sauce was a tad spicy and this wasn't mentioned on the menu. The service was fine if a tad inconsistent considering it wasn't very busy. All in all a bit of a weird experience, I would probably return but go with soft drink instead on a way cooler day.

Incredible food as always ... our go to place for a steak. Taylor did a fantastic job serving us too very helpful professional & polite.

1st Visit to the Hop Pole, only went for a drink, cocktails are great, whilst there saw the quality of the food being delivered so decided to order some food, Monday Night Italian Night ordered a lasagne and chicken Parmo wow fantastic good potion size too, but the staff were awesome too, will definitely be going back.

came ere on my day off for some loveh pickie bits services was outstanding, daisy, taylur and lauren were excellent. but the star of the show was the gentleman at the bar with the excellent and impressive mustash. Obviously by the look the food chef did an amazing job well done 😝😃🤤👨🏼 WOULD RECCOMEND
