Cheals

Had been meaning to try Cheals for a while and finally got round to it to celebrate a 21st birthday. Can honestly say was not disappointed in the slightest. The attention to detail was just amazing and the food is definitely the best we have ever had. The staff were so knowledgeable about the food and gave a brilliant wine recommendation. The evening was ever so special. Cant believe we waited so long to try, will 100% be back.

Previously visited Cheals when based in Henley-in-Arden. This was our first time at their new location in Knowle and we had a wonderful time. The restaurant is much more spacious now and the interior tastefully decorated. So, first impressions were great. Our waiter gave a warm welcome and expertly guided us through the menu and wine list. A very capable front of house team. My wife and I opted for the a la carte lunch menu and with each course our enthusiasm for the next grew. The hardest thing is deciding between all the tempting choices on offer, so if your budget stretches to it, I'd go for the tasting menu for a real treat. The highlight for us both was the dessert course. What a selection of moreish puddings skillfully prepared. Hats off to their patisserie chef. We chose Cheals for our second wedding anniversary and were delighted we did. We'll definitely be returning soon and would highly recommend it to others too.

Visited here with my partner for lunch, and whilst we mostly enjoyed the food, we found the portions on the small side. Having eaten in lots of higher end eateries, I understand it's quality over quantity, but the portions here were tiny, in fact after I left I went to get a snack from a local shop as I wasn't satisfied, not ideal after spending over £100 for two. We also found the pork belly fatty and not rendered down to what we would expect. (Pictured) Having eaten here before it changed hands, I'm not sure we'll be rushing back based on this experience, shame as we were really looking forward to this experience.

Really enjoyed the dining experience here. Went for the winter set menu. Delicious . Each course was brought out with a brief description from server, presented beautifully and prepared skillfully. I enjoyed the quail starter, followed by pork main, and the indulgent chocolate mousse topped with sorbet. Look forward to a return visit

From the moment we walked through the door, we were given the warmest welcome, setting the tone for what turned out to be an exceptional dining experience. As we arrived at our table, I was genuinely touched to find a handwritten birthday card waiting for me. It was such a thoughtful gesture that perfectly reflected the restaurant's incredible attention to detail. The service throughout the evening was impeccable—warm, attentive, and perfectly paced without ever feeling intrusive. Every member of the team made us feel valued and ensured that every aspect of our visit was flawless. The décor and atmosphere are simply stunning, creating an elegant yet relaxed setting that's perfect for celebrating a special occasion. Every detail has clearly been carefully considered, adding to the overall experience. The food was nothing short of outstanding—beautifully presented, perfectly balanced, and absolutely delicious. Every course showcased exceptional skill, creativity, and the finest ingredients. I genuinely don't know why Cheal's hasn't received a Michelin Star. In my opinion, it delivers everything you would expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant: exceptional food, flawless service, incredible attention to detail, and an unforgettable dining experience from start to finish. Thank you to the entire team for making my birthday so special. It was an evening we'll never forget, and we can't wait to return.
