Called in on the off chance that I might get something to drink and I was amazed that I hadn’t heard of this place before! A wonderful selection of ales on tap and a fridge full of bottles and cans from Belgium etc. I decided to try a pork pie and was not disappointed, the crust was perfectly crusty and the meat of high quality.
Madge making her first visit in 6 years. Been a few times, usually as part if the Manchester to Leeds Rail Ale Trail. On this dark November evening we were changing trains and I had twenty minutes to kill. Rushed in for a quick pint. Found a new brewery to tick off, Courier Brewing. A lovely bar to visit. Famous for the beer selection. Up to nine real ales. A CAMRA Good Beer Guide regular.
Such a gem! Perfectly kept beer, great choice of it as well and brilliant friendly staff. Place to visit for sure. 🍻
Awesome place to chill, & enjoy a drink, and a pie. Great real ales, Belgian beers, wines, & spirits. Easy to get to by train, so no need to worry about driving home after a good time.
This pub is legendary. It's everything you could want in a railway pub; great beer, good pies and pork scratchings, good music, friendly beardy barman. Oh, and of course loads of railway memorabilia! This place could not be improved on!
Historic buffet bar located on the railway station platform. Authentically fitted out. Several ales on. I can’t remember visiting a better pub at a working station. Highly recommended.. 🍻 🚂
A lovely hidden gem, tucked away on platform 4 of Stalybridge station. Excellent and extensive beer selection. Food limited to (very good) pork pies, pork scratchings and crisps. Great decor with loads of railway memorabilia.
