The owners had an incredible vision for this place, and they’ve brought it to life beautifully. The canal-side location is truly unique and creates an almost fairytale atmosphere. The food absolutely matches the quality of the setting: it looks amazing, tastes fantastic, and shows real craftsmanship. A brilliant place and a genuinely impressive business.

Tucked away beside the canal towpaths in Marple, Tawny Stores sits somewhere between a bistro, a delicatessen, and a casual hangout. Just 30 minutes from Manchester city centre, it’s in a prime spot along the Macclesfield Canal and feels wonderfully connected to the outdoors. The breakfast and lunch menu is excellent, showcasing the best from local suppliers. Fresh cakes are displayed at the counter, and the shelves are stocked with pantry goods you can take home. It’s dog-friendly inside and has a small terrace on the canal bank – a lovely spot to relax and enjoy good food.

What a great place! Visited for lunch with a friend. Pre-booked a table for two. A delectable menu and thoroughly enjoyed my choice alongside a tasty kombucha. Finished it off with a generous slice of tasty Guinness cake. Would recommend and looking forward to returning in the future

Attending one of the events at Tawny Stores for the first time I would highly recommend trying if you are local. Food was delicious, light summery menu perfect for a June evening. Service attentive and informative with the menu well explained. Good choice of drinks, and a lovely evening all round. Will definitely go again.

This is a proper cafe/restaurant with quality produce and ideas. The flavour combos are original and always worth trying whether it's their sandwiches, cakes, focaccia or supper clubs. We had high expectations for their December supper club which more than delivered - from the beef croquettes and sprout salad to the beautiful stuffed squash. We feel very lucky that for us Tawny is just a short walk away along the canal!

Tawny Stores is a cafe with a soul ❤️ the food and drink is delicious, the place is gorgeous, and the staff are warm and friendly. From hosting charity events to offering free sanitary products in the bathroom, they show that they care about the community around them. This feels like a rare find and makes them extra special. 11/10

The food here is always, always great. Even when it’s busy at Tawny the food is spot on and the staff are really friendly. The food is really tasty and creative but not overly fussy, all in a cozy, nicely curated setting. Great location to walk, run or cycle to. Banging coffee. Deffo worth checking out in the day or for an evening set menu.
