Newtown Chippy

Very disappointed, purchased scampi, chips, sausage and curry sauce. Sausage and curry sauce ok but had more batter bits than chips and the scampi looked and tasted burnt. When I rang to complain, I was told that it wasn’t burnt it was a different brand of scampi and that it just looked very dark! When I presses the point that it was most definitely burnt, the manager proceeded to ask "well what do you want me to do about?" No apology, nothing. Since being taken over, it’s rapidly gone downhill and this attitude just compounds things. Shall not be using again.

Heard good things about this chippy, so as a treat I popped there for fish and chips. Service was pleasant, and it appears clean. A very big menu of choices. Got home which is not far and was disappointing fish was not fresh and had dried out from the lamps, the chips where old and reheated and the sausage the dog had.. curry sauce was OK, charged for a large and given a small though. Can't say I'll be heading back soon.. not cheap either.

My daughter has autism and has to have her food separated or she will not eat when we ordered doner. meat and chips we were over the moon to see that this had been done already when opening the box! A great method for amazing tasting food.

Very disappointed with this place since the new ownership. The portion is less and the taste is average. I ordered the Newton special, the flavour wasn't there and the portion was pathetic. The previous owners use to fill the box up and the flavour was banging. Very sad really liked this place.

According to the 5 star rating needs to improve A Lot

Worst chips I have ever had We called to grab a portion of chips. Get them home to realise none of them were cooked White and waxy nearly blanched chips Tried to cook a few so we could have tea It is one of those times when the food is so bad there was no point explaining it to them. Such a shame especially with the new competition nearby

I find it acceptable waiting for an hour when you order online, but after 2 hours and 15min and a phone call which you just get told they are busy and everyone is waiting that long. The food arrives partly warm so you just eat it straight away, well the fish was so dry I couldn't eat it and the salad in the kebab consisted of 6 pieces of cucumber, I find this unacceptable. WE WILL NOT BE EATING FROM HERE AGAIN.
