The White Hart

Shirley, the landlady, is an absolute character. She's fabulous and feisty. Don't mess. The beer garden feels like a tropical haven. A pint of Atlantic Pale Ale, sat outside, and all we could hear were the birds. Amazing as it's only a few metres away from the main road. No food, but if you're buying drinks, you can bring in your own. I recommend Mr Chips just down the road for really good fish and chips.

What a lovely traditional North Devon bar. Shirley, the owner is a lovely character. A bar full of friendly locals. Good beer and a nice beer garden out the back. Family friendly.

I visited o a Friday night at 8pm. The curtains were already drawn and it looked closed. I Walked in and stood at bar and waited. There were 3 people in the corner sat staring. No one came to serve us so we turned around and left. On leaving someone shouted close the door. The door had a closer so it was a pointless comment. There was no ale available at time of visit so no great loss.

We stopped here for a drink on an afternoon visit to Bideford with a coach party. The landlord and landlady were wonderful and friendly and we really felt like they cared about us. Mum had a coffee and said it was better than any she had been getting at our hotel. We would definitely pay this lovely little pub another visit next time we were in Bideford.
