Station House Cafe

First time visiting but it definitely won’t be the last. The food was delicious. Everything was freshly made and well presented. The portion sizes were very generous. All staff were very welcoming and friendly. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Very disappointing first and last visit. I’m not writing anything in this review that I did not address in the cafe. Lovely friendly young girl took our order. Crispy chicken on ciabatta, layered with a hot honey sauce, red onion , crispy onions, served with salad and homemade slaw. Waited 30 minutes. A different waitress served our food. Salad at the side was shredded lettuce with a dressing over it. The ciabatta salad was 3 lettuce leaves, a drizzle of sauce, no red onion, no crispy onions. Pointed this out to the waitress asking her to inform manager. Approx 10 minutes later? the manager came out of the kitchen, I asked if he was made aware of the issue with my sandwich Yes he said but offered no apology. Wasn’t until I was paying the bill , he mentioned he spoke to staff. I explained it was very dry , I wasn’t impressed. Also lettuce on its own, is not a salad. Which he agreed, tomato and cucumber should have been part of the salad, and then came the apology. Too late for me. Personally he should have taken the dry sandwich off the bill. The homemade slaw was lovely . Yes it’s just recently opened, and hopefully kitchen staff can deliver what it says on the menu, and the pictures online and on social media.

Have visited several times now. The food has been excellent. Have tried various things & not been disappointed. Staff were friendly & attentive. The food is cooked fresh to order & great quality. The kitchen being open is a big plus in my book. Can't wait to visit again 😊

Lovely wee café, panini was great and the cakes looked amazing! Customer service was a bit poor though. We weren’t greeted or acknowledged when we came in and stood at the till waiting to order while staff were making drinks. Totally understand they were busy, but even a quick "Hi, I’ll be with you in a couple of minutes" would’ve made a difference. The people waiting behind us actually ended up leaving. I’d definitely go back as the food was lovely, but if the service was the same again it would probably put me off.
