Zaytuna Restaurant

Had a delightful lunch with a friend on Friday! The welcome was warm and inviting. The service was attentive and swift. The food was delectable!! I had the lamb biryani and the lamb pieces could have been cut with a spoon they were so tender!! Flavours were spectacular! Everything was authentic Mediterranean/Middle Eastern right down to the wonderful decor. A delightful lunch - highly recommend this small business in a quiet courtyard in Bawtry. I will be back!

Scoring a 4.9 on Google it must be me I know, but I just don't get it. Sells itself as a Mediterranean but then sells things like biryani. As a result it does nothing particularly well. Having lived in southern Europe and the Middle East I consider myself a good judge of the food but it was all a bit meh. The lamb biryani (bland and grey) and moutabbal (more like a relish) were particularly poor. We sat there from around 1845-2100 and no exaggeration; we were the only customers. Not sure how they stay open. The waiter was friendly enough and food was served quickly. I appreciated being able to bring your own alcohol as they don't serve it and thus it kept the bill down. Wouldn't return I'm sad to say.

The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always happy to offer helpful advice about their delicious range of dishes and varieties available. The restaurant itself was spotless, beautifully decorated, and created a warm, relaxing atmosphere. Whether you’re dining with family or enjoying a meal with your partner, you’ll definitely have a wonderful and enjoyable experience here.

Absolutely lovely Syrian restaurant! The food was delicious, authentic, and full of flavour, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, with such genuine Syrian hospitality. A beautiful place with amazing food, traditional and ornate decorations with lovely music - highly recommend!

This is an inderstated gem! Set in a pleasant courtyard (plenty of parking on the high street) and tastefully decorated. The seating is comfortable and the staff are friendly and unobtrusive. As for the food… well it looked so good and tasted even better I forgot to take pictures. If you’re travelling up or down the A1(M), forget the Motorway Services and take a 5 minute detour for a visit to Zaytuna. If you’re not travelling on the A1(M) I suggest you start so you have an excuse to visit.
