Cleopatra's Kitchen - Shirley

Nicely decorated, small venue but we went and it was just my friend and I to serve so the service was quick. We both got a mixed kebab and sumac chips. The chips were nice, they came with a sauce and we shared and it was a good size. The kebab was fine the bread was nice and the meat flavours were strong and they got lost in the flavours of the toppings. The process seemed good though. £13 for the kebab, and £4 for the chips which seemed a lot at first but the portion was okay.

Honestly I’m still stuffing my face as I’m writing this. It’s so good I couldn’t be bothered to take a picture of it. 10/10. No questions asked. Absolutely spot on. Had the mixed shawarma bowl. Chicken was the highlight for me. Seasoned lovely. Rice - fluffy, fresh with lots of herbs, what I love. Sauces, pickles. Honestly this is a bowl of good stuff. My gf had the falafel bowl with rice (vegan) - also 10 10

The quality and taste of the shawarma is a cut above a lot of other similar offerings in the midlands. The shawarma is a tad more expensive but you are paying for a better experience. I would recommend the chicken shawarma over the lamb version as it is consistent good any time of the day. The lamb depending on the time of the day can become a bit tough. The sumac chips from this place is crispy and perfect too!

I’ve been wanting to try cleopatras for so long and I finally got to try them out when they opened their new store on Shirley high street. Their food taste just as amazing as they look.. with a generous portion size, their food will leave you feeling full and happy! The seating area is perfect to pop in and catch up with friends and family, they even have outdoor seating for you to sit and enjoy in the sunshine! Quality food, friendly staff, cute decor. The flavours are always on point, with the Mixed grill or shawarma being my faves. Sumac fries are delicious and I still don't see them elsewhere at all. The furniture is a little lightweight, and starting to show it's age, and some music or lighting would help make the space a little cosier, but overall the decor is still well considered and enjoyable. Try to come back and support these guys regularly.
