My favourite place for lunch in Stroud. The cafe is very cozy and the music is always on point. I've tried all the lunch bowls and they are all delicious.

Lovely little place snuggled in the back of The Sub Rooms- food is great and reasonably priced and fab coffee!

Evening pre show supper was advertised as Chicken casserole, root vegatable mash and herby dumplings, what we actually got was over cooked chicken with frozen stew vegatables in a over salted sauce with 2 small dumplings that were burnt on the top. My initial complaint to the waiter was ignored and when I reminded him, he snapped at me and said he was busy! Then the lady chef came to see us and asked what our problem was. Her comments were that the vegables were in the casserole, but she had’t mashed them and she had cooked the dumplings with a crusty top and finally that they were cooking it on a tight budget. But the meal cost £12 each and there were 26 people having it which adds up to £312! Not exactly a tight budget. And I’m afraid the excuses about the meal were not valid. Not one fresh root vegetable was peeled that evening! She suggested she take our meals away to improve on them, but I declined as I don’t know what she could have done in this instance. She also asked me what to do to make it right so I said, we had no choice but to eat it as we had not had a dinner and probably wouldn’t be out of the show until at least 10.30, so I suggested a partial refund would be acceptable. We ate as much as we could, but it did not live up to the standard we had expected. The lady waitress that offered us dessert and gave us more water was very pleasant. At the end of the meal , the chef lady started our refund for two, but we said that a partial refund for one meal would be sufficient. She then politely said she hoped we enjoyed the show. This was supposed to be a treat for us, but the show was amazing, so we did eventually have a good time.
