Rowe's Bakery
📍 Shawarma restaurants in Truro
Rowe's Bakery in Truro offers a variety of pasties and savory snacks for local residents. While the selection includes traditional favorites and unique options like cauliflower cheese, the seasoning levels and pastry textures can be inconsistent across different varieties.
The establishment operates primarily as a takeaway service, which may limit the experience for those seeking a seated area. Furthermore, customer service standards are a notable point of concern regarding the overall experience.

Got a peppered steak and curry chicken slice. Found it to be underseasoned. It was warm and flakey tho. Their vegetarian pasties tasted well seasoned. But for the steak pasty, the crust just wasn’t as flakey as I would have liked and underseasoned
Take away only. I'll gladly take away my business elsewhere, if only you said that before you took my money. To somewhere that doesn't kick my baby outside when it's close to freezing. "Merry Christmas. Alright love". This is not the Rowes of my youth.
Went for a non traditional pasty, cauliflower cheese! Not to bad at all! Definitely would recommend if a traditional is a bit too much.
Steak and Stilton pasty for £4.05. It tasted ok, but the Stilton was rather overpowering. If you like blue cheese, this is the pasty for you, but if not, I recommend a Cornish pasty.
Generally I quite like Rowe’s. I’ve found the food to be perfectly nice. However, I’m unlikely to return to this store due to the rude staff. I was doing some Christmas shopping yesterday and started to feel unwell. I am a cardiac patient and recently received a pacemaker, so I’m still in recovery. I didn’t have time to find a cafe to sit down in because I needed to get as much shopping done as possible, before the school run. I felt like I’d better eat something quick to (hopefully) perk me up again, so I went into the nearest place which was Rowe’s. The shop was empty except for two members of staff. I grabbed a drink and the staff member asked if I wanted help, so I asked if they had any steak pasties left (it was gone 1pm, so I was pushing my luck). She looked at me like I was an idiot or nuts and said, "Yes" a little abruptly, but I dismissed that. Perhaps she didn’t mean to sound so short… I paid up and went over to the window and placed my heavy bags down on the large bench in the window. It looked like it ought to have a row of seats along it. I took a little sip of my drink. I just needed to take a moment because I felt unwell and it was raining outside. The staff member immediately said, "It’s a takeaway not sit in!" I couldn’t believe how rude she was to me. It was completely unnecessary! I was in no-ones way and I’d literally just paid over the odds for an average pasty. In this climate, where businesses go under on a daily basis you’d think customer service might be a little more important.
