The River Garden

Hired the beautiful tipi at The River Garden for a private birthday party - approx 70 guests attended. Firstly the tipi is a beautiful setting for an event and add such an enchanted feel to any event. The booking process extremely easy. The team (Julie and Tony) were happy to show us around on a couple of occasions while planning our daughter's party. The tipi had enough table, chairs, fantastic lighting, a large screen to share a slideshow and for karaoke, sound and speakers we were able to connect to via Bluetooth. The food options were plentiful and varied and delicious! We selected 5 items as a buffet choice. Food arrived hot, freshly made and portions catered for my guests. Even special dietary needs - gluten free and vegan were accommodated with no issues. The mini bar in the tipi was stocked and served our party - we arranged a tab and everything worked perfectly. The outdoors is beautiful, plenty of parking, easy and convenient to reach. So grateful for the team who supported us make this a great success for our daughter's 18th. A very memorable party.

The food was amazing. The waitress was friendly and cheerful. Food received without any delay. They have a variety of food and drinks. Definitely recommend this place and will be back soon.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ — A Canal-Side Gem That Keeps Drawing You Back Having visited the River Garden on multiple occasions — across weekday lunches, weekend afternoons, and evening outings — I can say with confidence that this is one of those rare places that genuinely earns its reputation every single time. The setting along the Grand Union Canal is simply lovely, and the half-acre beer garden is one of the most generous and relaxed outdoor spaces you will find in the area. It creates an atmosphere that feels unhurried and genuinely welcoming — something increasingly difficult to come by. The staff deserve particular Name Rahul mention. Across every visit, the service has been warm, attentive, and consistent — never rushed, never indifferent. The food is honest, well-portioned pub fare executed reliably well, and the drinks selection — from well-kept ales to wines and soft drinks — has never disappointed. What truly sets the River Garden apart, however, is how naturally family-friendly it feels. The space accommodates everyone comfortably, from young children to adults seeking a quiet drink, without either feeling out of place. A thoroughly enjoyable pub that I return to by choice, not chance. Highly recommended

Very large outside garden kitted out with cheap picnic tables and parasols that are not big enough. Some of the tables are over weathered and haven't been maintained. It looks industrial and is industrial. Put together for maximum profit. On the up side, the member of the outside bar staff was extremely helpful and efficient. Plastic "glasses" though not nice to drink out of. Pizzas were ok - again industrial. Overall, I wouldn't go again.

I had a starter which was delicious, every mouthful was tasty. My friends had a roast which was huge & great value for money, tasty & filling. They had desserts which whilst tasty, quite over priced as it was teeny. The inside restaurant got pretty noisy but understandable with families & kids. Still no decaff in 2026 🙁 so i had H2O .. Must be the acoustics. Ample free parking, gets really packed & cabbies dropping off customers near the entrance. Will return to try the garden menu whish is different apparently
