Me, my partner and our son went yesterday for my birthday meal we had 2 soup starters and the crab salad which all tasted terrible. We all had the Sunday dinner two adults and one child the meat was standard but the rest of the food was horrible not even edible. I had a massive Yorkshire pudding that was burnt sloppy piles of veg which was just two different types of piled cabbage. The roast potatoes where so hard you couldn’t cut through the bottom of them and tasted awful, even the mash didn’t taste like it was made properly. They didn’t have any cocktails that were on the menu so between us we had 4 alcoholic drinks and 2 j2o’s, with everything the price came up to £125. We all left hungry and disappointed so we ordered pizza when we got home. Complete waste of money very disappointed.
We've just had a fantastic late lunch. The girls were really accommodating even when our house hippo decided to spill a bowl of water everywhere. Food was fantastic, the flat bread tasted like Italy and the soup was amazing.
Staff lovely, good service atmosphere nice but a bit cramped in the restaurant area. I had beef stroganoff which was tender but more like a salty stew with a blob of sour cream on. 2 other members had fish and chips, fish was huge and they said was nice and 1 member had pie which they said was ok . Might go back again but definitely not have beef stroganoff just far too salty for me personally.
Best meal out i have had in a long time. There were 5 of us all had 3 courses and all had different for each course. The food was piping hot and all came at the same time. Well worth every penny. It is now my top place to eat out in the area. Recommend booking
What was a good night in one of the pods turned into a disaster. Was told at the end of the night we had to pay an extra £25 for cleaning (we ate a meal in there, nothing out of the ordinary) and an extra £100 because there was less than 20 people in our party. Would have been nice to be told this before hand, bunch of cowboys. Tia our server was absolutely faultless unlike the management and unfortunately won't ever be coming back.
On arrival, we received a friendly, warm welcome from the staff - Kate, Callie, Layla and Belle, with news of a new chef! The food was delicious, and Chef accommodated my smaller appetite with a children’s portion of Roast Beef dinner, which was more than enough! My husband had a regular Roast Turkey dinner which he thoroughly enjoyed also. My teen daughter gave an enthusiastic nod to the burger, which in teen language, shouts volumes! Well done ladies and gents, we are looking forward to returning in the very near future.
Since the new management and renovation we have been back several times including Christmas eve 2025 (9 of us), a 50th birthday celebration (13 of us) and also just the two of us. Each time, regardless of group size, food has come out quickly, has been to a high standard and service has been great. What they have done with the pub (renovation wise) has really transformed the pub for the better and has resulted in a great family atmosphere. Keep it up and we will keep coming back!
