Ichiban

My friends and I were staying in Yeovil and were craving ramen, so we found Ichiban. We’re so glad we did as the ramen was incredible! Lovely service too. Would definitely be back soon if we weren’t so far away in London!

The best ramen! If you’re looking for great ramen, this place needs to be at the top of your list. The broth is incredibly rich and silky — the kind that tastes like it’s been simmering for hours, developing layers of flavor you can’t fake. I have tried many ramens in many different locations but no one can match Ichiban!

Such a lovely, hospitable and delicious hidden gem in Yeovil. The food is absolutely mouth-watering. The tonkotsu broth pork ramen is exquisite, with a smokily umami broth, melt-in-the-mouth pork belly and perfectly seasoned egg, amongst crisp veggies. I’ve also never had tempura so well battered- not stodgy breading but crispy, fluffy coating that flakes apart. The ordering system is efficient; you mark your food choices by pen on a printed menu and the waiting time can be as short as 10 minutes! Especially if quiet. Bring a mate and an appetite, the lovely folks who keep this place running know what they’re doing! Thank you for your hospitality and a hearty meal 🙏🏼

We travelled from Newcastle on a holiday and saw this spot on the map. The food was so authentic and delicious we are so sad it was so far away! We both got different ramen which were full of flavour and the meat and gyoza were cooked to perfection. We also tried a starter which was some sort of seafood balls- ar first I didn’t realise it was squid and sea food involved. I’ve never tried squid before and the idea of it wasn’t too appealing to me- after that starter I completely changed my mind. 10/10 it was amazing. Honestly a hidden gem and the two people that greeted us were extremely hospitable. The man moved the fan in our direction as it was a heatwave and even showed us how to use the booklet after he saw us struggle figuring out what is what. The booklet showed what each dish was which was super helpful. Overall this is such a hidden gem- it is more than worth a visit.

Good food overall however not authentic Japanese food. We ordered chicken karaage and takoyaki as our side dishes and tonkatsu ramen for our main. Ramen noodle was good, the broth was heartwarming. The atmosphere was nice, with slight reminder of Japan. We received excellent service too.

soooo good 😍 we got the tonkotsu & chicken katsu ramen with tonkotsu broth and extra eggs. we also got the chicken karaage and takoyaki everything was so yummy and the staff were great!
