Worth the drive! Stella's place is lovely and welcoming. Her food is top-notch and the service is spot on. Stella herself was a delight. A diligent host, with many a story. She knew when to engage and when to serve politely and quietly. The views of countryside only complimented this quaint restaurant. For great, vibrant African and Caribbean food, with an equally vibrant host, Stella's is a must!

Absolutely amazing food! So fresh and tasty! What an absolute hidden gem. Stella and her staff were very accommodating for our group. We called a few days in advance. The food was so tasty. Chicken ground nut curry. Mutton curry. Chicken curry. Riced. Cabbage. Plantain. Dumplings. Veg curry. Alllll absolutely amazing. The red chilli 🌶️ sauce hits the spot!!! Gluten free options too.

Absolutely incredible food, Service and atmosphere!!! Stella is such a wonderful bright character added that extra joy to the experience. Me and my cousin drove from manchester and it was well worth the trip. Thank you for having us Stella & Staff. ♥️🤗 we will be back soon.

Stella’s home cooking is to die for, with her mutton dish possibly being the best meat dish I’ve had in memory! Our plates were practically licked clean. We also had king prawns on fried plantain which were delicious. To top off the incredible food, the eating environment is a fantastic mix of homely and impressive with the Peak District views. Stella herself is so conversational and friendly and is obviously (and rightly) very proud of her cooking. A fantastic experience all round - thank you!

Randomly searched for a lunch and found this jewel on the way to Bakwell. We had fish, mutton curry, spinach butternut sweet potato squash. Fish curry and mutton curry were served with delicious rice mixed with carrots, beans, and peas. All food were very delicious and tasty with the right amount of spice. The place was clean and the restaurant owner was a bubbly cheerful person giving a warm welcome to all the guests. I would give 5/5 for this place Stellas Kitchen.
